I just got back from Sardinia, Italy. I was there for a week for a tournament plus a camp. It was a great week! I wrestled up a weight class at 58kgs. I learned a lot. I won my first match against Brazil (she is going to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games at 58kgs). I was very happy and surprised to win that match. After that match I lost to Russia and Romania. I am glad I went up a weight because I learned a lot and that is the most important part right now. Results are not important until Rio, it is more important to improve and grow. The camp was a good size and I had many partners to train with. Most of the time I trained with the Mongolian team. It was what I needed. They have such a different style of wrestling and it is always nice to change things up.
After the tournament, we had some much needed R&R in the town of Sassari. In the morning I watched some beach wrestling, then enjoy the sun with my teammates in the afternoon. It was a great day and help me get ready for the week of training. We also had Wednesday afternoon off the mats and went into Alghero. It was nice to see more of Italy. Although the two days we had free time it rained. But we made the most out of the few hours of the day when the sun came out from behind the clouds. No Sun burn for me J maybe by the time I leave for Rio I will have a base tan… haha or maybe not. |
